Things to do in West Hollywood

West Hollywood sits between Beverly Hills and Hollywood proper, but it runs on a different clock: the streets fill up after dark, not at midday. This is the district built around nightlife, design showrooms and one of the country's most established LGBTQ+ scenes, rather than film-history sightseeing or quiet residential streets.

It rewards a plan that runs into the evening, with time set aside for a walking tour of its design and cultural landmarks earlier in the day and, where a hotel offers day access to a pool, a slower afternoon before things pick up. Beverly Hills and Hollywood look close on a map, but a car (or a 30-60 minute rideshare, depending on traffic) is still the realistic way to reach either.

Weekends draw crowds fast, so booking tours and any pool access ahead of time is worth doing rather than turning up and hoping. Expect the dry, warm Southern California summer and a wetter winter to shape which plans move outdoors and which stay in.
